- Avoid including identifiable features in listing photos (home address, license plates)
- Use the platform's messaging system instead of personal email or phone for initial contacts
- Report users who request excessive personal information
- Review our privacy policy to understand how your data is used and protected
Safe Transactions
- Always use our secure payment system for transactions
- Be extremely cautious of deals that seem too good to be true
- Never use wire transfers, gift cards, or cryptocurrency for payments
- Avoid paying or accepting payment outside of the platform
- Be wary of sellers who ask for payment before shipping
- Check seller ratings and reviews before making a purchase
Be alert for these common warning signs of scams:
- Unusually low prices that seem unrealistic
- Requests to communicate outside the platform immediately
- Pressure to complete transactions quickly

- Poor grammar or spelling in communications

- Refusal to meet in person or allow item inspection
- Requests for payment using methods with no buyer protection
In-Person Meeting Safety
- Meet in public places with plenty of people around (shopping malls, coffee shops)
- Consider using official safe exchange zones at police stations when available
- Never invite strangers to your home or go to theirs
- Meet during daylight hours whenever possible
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going and when
- Consider sharing your location with a trusted person during the meeting
- Trust your instincts - if something feels wrong, leave immediately
- Bring a friend or family member with you when possible
- Don't share personal details like your home address or daily routine
- Be extra cautious when buying/selling high-value items
- Inspect items carefully before completing the transaction
- Have your phone readily accessible in case of emergency
- Consider using cash for in-person transactions to avoid sharing payment details
Safe Communication
- Keep all communication within the GENDA Marketplace platform
- Be cautious about sharing your personal contact information
- Never click on suspicious links sent in messages
- Report messages that request financial information or contain threats
- Be professional and respectful in all communications
- Save all messages as documentation in case a dispute arises
Reporting Problems
If you encounter any of the following situations, report them immediately to our Trust & Safety team:
- Suspected fraudulent listings or scam attempts
- Users attempting to move transactions off the platform
- Threatening or harassing messages
- Listings that violate our marketplace guidelines
- Suspicious account activity
- Items received that are significantly different from their description
- Security vulnerabilities or privacy concerns
